SAKEANI JAPAN Inc. is set to introduce “Kokushu Seijo,” a unique subscription service that blends the experience of enjoying seasonal Japanese sake and shochu with the allure of original audio programs narrated by professional voice actors. Slated for a September 2026 launch, this service promises to deliver a cultural and educational journey to its subscribers, who will receive quarterly shipments of these traditional beverages accompanied by audio content. The narratives will explore the rich stories of participating breweries, their distinctive brewing techniques, and the historical and cultural contexts of their regions.
The subscription model is inspired by “MIZUNO MANIMANI,” an original story project featuring a fictional water dragon deity and spirits linked to Japanese breweries. The company has hinted at the possibility of developing this storyline into an animated production, expanding the immersive experience. The concept for “Kokushu Seijo” was born out of insights gained during a launch event in Tokyo in December 2025. The event drew approximately 5,800 attendees, and a survey of 511 participants highlighted a keen interest in the cultural and historical narratives of Japanese sake over character-focused entertainment. More than fifty percent of respondents expressed a desire for voice-acted tales about brewery histories and production processes.
Looking beyond Japan, SAKEANI JAPAN plans to introduce this subscription service internationally, starting with JapanFest in Atlanta. The aim is to promote Japanese culture and its traditional alcoholic beverages to a broader audience. The company is actively engaging with potential partners in distribution, media, events, and entertainment sectors to facilitate its overseas expansion.
Founded in March 2026 and headquartered in Tokyo, SAKEANI JAPAN operates across various domains including event production, digital content creation, e-commerce, alcoholic beverage sales, and cultural business development. The launch of “Kokushu Seijo” aligns with their broader mission to foster a deeper appreciation for Japanese culture and traditional sake and shochu through innovative experiences that merge storytelling with taste.
