Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has commenced a three-day official visit to India, arriving in New Delhi to engage in high-level discussions with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This visit marks the 16th India-Japan Annual Summit, a significant event aimed at enhancing the strategic partnership between the two nations.

As Takaichi’s inaugural official trip to India, the summit is set to cover a broad agenda. The two leaders plan to discuss collaboration in vital areas such as trade, investment, defense, technology, and regional security. Moreover, they will evaluate the progress of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, a framework designed to bolster cooperation between the countries.

Prime Minister Modi expressed his enthusiasm in welcoming Takaichi, highlighting the importance of her visit. He stressed the significance of their discussions in further strengthening the bilateral relationship, while also emphasizing the need for continued cooperation to ensure peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.
