In a powerful speech in Delhi, Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov reaffirmed the “uninterrupted” defense cooperation that has served as the “backbone of India’s armed forces” for “more than six decades.”
Alipov stressed that this partnership, responsible for 70% of India’s military hardware, has evolved into “full technology-sharing arrangements.” He cited BrahMos missiles and Su-30 MKI jets as key successes.
This legacy, he said, is the foundation for a new defense push. “Building on this legacy, we can move confidently toward local production of the Su-57 fifth-generation fighter,” Alipov stated.
He also confirmed discussions on drones, anti-drone systems, and advanced radar.
This strong statement of support comes as a clear counter to US pressure. After Donald Trump claimed India would stop buying “beneficial” Russian oil, Russia is highlighting its deep, historical, and technologically advanced commitment to India’s security.
